Eligibility for Independent Study

Who is eligible?

Sweetwater Union High School District offers Independent Study options for students in grades 7-12 who are:

Approaching or in their fourth year of high school with no hope of graduating from high school “on time”

Having social or academic difficulty in a comprehensive school setting

Credit deficient and/or having attendance problems

Enrolling from other school districts mid-semester and in need of time to “catch-up”

Moving from school to school due to economic or family circumstances
